I send this out 5x a week to thousands of investors and entrepreneurs, click the blue button if you’d like to be a part of the family.

If you hate it I’ll send your money back.

One thing that turned my life upside down was a simple quote from my man Tim Ferris.

“What would this look like if it were EASY?”

Now that is a crazy quote, because all throughout our lives we’ve been trained that the BEST things to do are typically the HARDEST…

“Marriage is the best but hardest thing you will do…”

“Having kids is the hardest but best thing ever..”

“if it was easy, everyone would do it…”

“If it seems too good to be true.. it probably is…”

I mean seriously, we’ve all heard those 4 above + 1,000 more throughout our lives, right???

That’s why Tim Ferris’ backwards logic is so legendary.

Because NO ONE ELSE IS DOING IT.

We assume that a solution to our problem SHOULD be difficult, so we don’t even LOOK for the easy (READ: Efficient) solution.

This can lead to some VERY bad uses of time.

Here’s some ones that I can laugh about now but were super stupid in my own life…

  • Basketball - My coach hated me, and said so to my face, yet I decided to try to “prove him wrong” in practice by playing well instead of just transferring straight away… (Result: Wasted 3 months of my life, lots of anger and frustration for no reason)

  • Marketing - Had put weeks of effort into a video sequence with some email follow ups to just get it “perfect”. Realized it wasn’t working. So instead of scrapping it, I put in ANOTHER 2 weeks. Still didn’t work.

  • Amazon - Bought 20k worth of wireless chargers. They weren’t selling. Decided to do a “Giveaway” to trick Amazon into ranking the products. The products ranked, but we gave away half our inventory, and then we lost the ranking… :)

MORALE OF THE STORY?

LOOK FOR THE EASY ROUTE.

Seriously stop and ask yourself that question every time you have to make a decision.

“What would this look like if it were EASY?”

Seriously think about it.

Go through EVERY option, as crazy as they may seem.

Forget about how much time you’ve already spent (see my letter on SUNK COSTS)

Forget about what he would say, or she would say…

Forget about what your past self would say..

And just take the most efficient, easiest path.

The ironic part is, that it’s EASIER SAID THAN DONE.

And EVERY SINGLE TIME I DO IT I STRUGGLE.

I ask myself, “Kale, are you just being lazy?”

The crazy part is that 99.9% of the time the answer is a resounding NO.

I’m not being lazy, I’m just being efficient.

I’m going to leave you with two quotes that I think accentuate this point.
