I loved it thanks Kale,..nice reminder. I have a similar story but has to do with golf. I was an angry golfer always having expectations of playing like a pro without the necessary practice. Problem was,.. the harder I concentrated, the harder I worked on producing great shots,...the angrier I got when it didn't happen! This also made me an unpleasant person to play with. One day, I'm playing with a friend of mine (who is an x-pro) who stopped me (after yet another crappy shot) and basically asked me two questions.
1) Are you a pro? A) No,...2) Are you at the office? A) No.
He then said, "well why can't then just enjoy the game and appreciate the fact that your not at the office and enjoy the scenery because your now wrecking my game. If you don't stop with the anger,..I'm not going to play with you anymore!" Well didn't I have an epiphany. lol
It took a while but, I am no longer an angry golfer and have learned to step back,..not work so hard and oddly enough,..both my game and enjoyment of the game have improved dramatically. Thanks for reminding me that my life can be conducted in the same way.
“But Kale, how do I actually do that??”It is amazing how sometimes you know it but until someone points it out you go "Duh" thanx for the insight... You Rock.
